Sky Sports understands former Liverpool and Leeds forward El Hadji Diouf is in talks with Malaysian side Sabah FC.
Senegal international Diouf is a free agent after leaving Leeds at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs since leaving Leeds, but Sabah FC are hoping to lure the two-time African Footballer of the Year to Malaysia.
Talks are underway between Sabah and Diouf, with the Malaysian Premier League side hoping to tie up a deal for the player as early as next week.
Diouf has a wealth of experience having had spells in the Premier League
with Liverpool, Bolton, Sunderland and Blackburn prior to his move to
Leeds in 2012 and Sabah see his possible arrival as a coup for the club.
